We at AJS Events are once again honored to receive the 2018 WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards®. Recipients represent the top five percent of wedding professionals on WeddingWire who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism.
Congratulations to our own James Rivers (DJ Linc)! He was recently named DJ of the Year for a national wedding industry leader that annually recognizes the best in the industry. Linc was chosen over hundreds of other DJs.
Linc was cited for his smooth delivery of the bridal intros, as well as his infectiously fun and interactive personality. We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
At AJS Events, we truly enjoy providing services to class reunions - we've been involved in more than 100 over the past five years or so. For many, we've furnished DJ, Photography and Photo Booths. Our DJs love the nostalgic aura felt at reunions, and seeing classmates re-connect after many years. We've been at 50-year reunions where some classmates became re-acquainted after not having seen each other since high school graduation!
The two most common complaints we've heard from organizers concerning DJs at class reunions are:
1. The DJ didn't play the songs we asked him/her to play.
Our DJs work closely with reunion committees and organizers to build the perfect playlist - which can encompass favorite music of the era, prom themes, and songs played at dances and sporting events. Our DJs will always ask the organizers beforehand if it's acceptable to play song requests outside of the playlist during the last hour or so (such as current favorites like the Cha-Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle and Uptown Funk) when the dance floor gets going.
2. The music volume was way too loud.
Music volume is vital to the success of any class reunion. It must be low enough so that classmates can easily converse with one another while still achieving the nostalgic backdrop we are striving for. Our DJs always allow sufficient time to set-up and perform a sound-check to ensure the music volume meets these criteria. Our DJs then continually monitor the volume for the duration of the reunion, by walking around the room and even sitting at tables, to make sure it stays right.
As to Photography and Photo Booths, we offer a number of options to fit your needs and budget. A Photo Booth always livens up a party, and is especially appealing and fun at a class reunion where groups and clubs (student government, cheerleaders and sport teams, etc.) can pose and "whoop it up" in their own special way!
It would be our pleasure to be a part of your next class reunion, and help to give you a night of nostalgia and fun that you'll long remember very fondly!
